Week 2 bonus activity in Flanders Field

At first Reading this poem  I had no idea what it was talking about and it didnt rhyme to me.

But it made me feel hatred😡/sadness😢 that all those men had to die because of one assasination and the rivalry between countries . so our brave New Zealanders died because Greedy selfish  men cant swallow their pride and just get over thing's. (Man just cant solve the world problems)

But anyways those brave men died for what they thought was right. And helped their allies in an unsuccessful campaign. (RIP)😔

  1. Kia Ora Leyton,
It is very sad that we lost New Zealanders in the war. Men signed up to the war as a way to protect and service New Zealand. Even though we are on the other side of the world from where the War occured, we were and still are apart of the Commonwealth. Which means as a country we said we will support the United Kingdom if they need us to and vica versa. Luckily we were on the winning side of the war. The men who fought in the war were brave and courageous for risking their lives to fight for their country. That is why we have ANZAC day commemorations, to remember those who sacrificed their lives for our country.
I’m glad that we haven’t had any more world wars since the second world war and that organisations such as the United Nations work towards sustaining a peaceful world.
    Keep up the good work.

  2. Hey Leyton,

You’ve posted a very passionate response, I like that you have taken the time to express your opinions of war as well as your response to the poem. It is such a shame that we lost so many of our own people, but I find comfort in the fact that they are no longer suffering.

I am eternally grateful for their sacrifice and like Dani said, I am so glad there have not been any more world wars. Hopefully it stays this way.

I hope you’re having a wonderful holiday season, stay safe this summer!

    Toe feiloa’i fo’i,

    Cia.
