the wind was ruff,
and the war was tuff.
Men fight to get back,
struggling from the attack.
we where battered and bruised unsure and confused.
we flew out of the clouds and shouted aloud HOME HOME.
landing back down we saw and we found, friends and family, home we were finally.
Glad I was to be safe and sound, relieved
from the war which sadness and death was all we found.
Hi Leyton.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Clare and I am part of the Summer Learning Journey, I am following your blog and reading your blog posts at the moment. Its great to see all the work you have been putting in to post and work through the tasks on here.
I enjoyed reading your poem, Do you know what type of poem you choose to write it called?
You really helped me feel what It would have been like to have been there on that boat coming in on the Tasman Sea. The men must have felt so relieved like you say.
Maybe next time you could add some images into your poem to add more detail to your blog post.
Blog you later.
