That Waka ama stuff seems pretty tough but i'm pretty sure they do that in the Olympics and it seems so exhausting. If I was fit enough I would totally do that because its good exercise in the arms and it will probably help you to be more coordinate having to row in sync with the other fellas.
Kia Ora Leyton,
ReplyDeleteIt’s awesome to see that you have been busy completing some of the activities in the Summer Learning Journey. I don’t think it’s in the Olympics but it should be! I think it is a very tough sport both mentally and physically. I have never paddled in a waka before but I can imagine you are right, that it takes heaps of arm strength and teamwork to win. Do you play any team sports? Or any sports at all?
Keep the blogs coming!

I think you are right to think that competing in Waka Ama is tough. I imagine it takes a lot of energy to keep rowing and I agree that it would help build your stamina and help your coordination. You’ve made some really good observations. Also, I really appreciate the pictures you’ve included in your post, on the picture to the right, I could really see the effort and exhaustion in their faces!
It was a joy to read your post, keep up the great work.
